Instruction Set Details
This appendix contains detailed information about each instruction of the DSP56800E instruction set.
Section A.1, “Notation,” explains most of the notation that is used in Section A.2, “Instruction
Descriptions,” which shows the syntax of all allowed DSP56800E instructions and summarizes addressing
modes, condition codes, and instruction timing. Section A.3, “Instruction Opcode Encoding,” provides
additional details about the notation for opcode encoding.
For more detailed information on condition codes, see Appendix B, “Condition Code Calculation.”

tables. Table A-1 on page A-2 defines the register notation that is used in general read and write
