4.16.2 Functional Description
The flash is byte accessible for reads and writes; it is erased in pages. Its organization is optimized for the PC87591x target
application and security needs. Table 29 summarizes the various flash size parameters.
Flash Protection
The flash is partitioned into separate areas to protect the contents. Section 4.16.6 on page 226 provides details of the Main
Block and Information Block protection mechanisms, respectively. The main protected areas are:
Main Block
— Core Boot Block - an area dedicated for the core boot code and protected from corruption by the CR or host.
— Host Boot Block - an area dedicated for host boot code and protected from corruption by the host.
