Figures 23.2 and 23.3 show example connections of USB function controller and transceiver.
Figures 23.2 shows connections when using the on-chip USB transceiver. Figures 23.3 shows
connections when not using the on-chip USB transceiver. When using the USB function
controller, the signals must be input to the cable connection monitor pin UJBF_VBUS. The
USBF_VBUS pin is multiplexed with the USB1_ovr_current pin, and writing 1 to bit 0
(USB_SEL) of UTRCTL selects the USBF_VBUS pin functions. According to the status of the
USBF_VBUS pin, the USB function controller recognizes whether the cable is
connected/disconnected. Also, pin D+ must be pulled up in order to notify the USB host/hub that
the connection is established. The sample circuits in figures 23.2 and 23.3 use the USB1_pwr_en
pin for pull-up control.
