Debug Support
Once the eTPU engine is breakpointed, operation may be resumed using the XCSR[21:20] bits.
These bits provide slightly different mechanisms to resume operation, see Section 32.4.5 for
details.

The ColdFire BDM connector,
32.10 eTPU Debug Programming Model
The eTPU engine, as a separate processor from the ColdFire core, provides its own specific debug
capabilities such as watchpoints, data trace, and microinstruction debug. These capabilities are
controlled via the eTPU debug module (EDM). This module contains 19 registers all accessible
through the BDM port using the WDMREG and RDMREG commands. These registers are also
accessible from the ColdFire processor supervisor programming model with the WDEBUG (write
only) command. The EDM programming model and operation are described in this section. The
eTPU debug module features include:

• Ability to enter debug mode at reset negation or during normal execution
• Ability to single step an instruction and re-enter debug mode
