(2) Hardware PC break
Hardware PC break is implemented by using the debug mode of the S1C33000 core CPU. This break
operation can be simulated even in the simulator mode. This function causes the program to break when the
PC matches the address set by a command. The program is made to break before executing the instruction
at that address. Up to two addresses can be set as hardware breakpoints.
When this break occurs, the db33 displays the following message in the [Command] window and stands by
waiting for command input.
Clearing a breakpoint
Select the address you want to clear from the [Breakpoint list] box and click the [Clear] button.
Enabling/disabling a breakpoint
Only the first two break addresses registered can serve as valid breakpoints. The valid breakpoints are
marked by a suffix /E1 or /E2 attached to the address in the list. Similarly, invalid breakpoints are marked
by a suffix /D.
To change an invalid breakpoint to a valid breakpoint or vice versa, select the address you want to change
and click the [Enable] or the [Disable] button. The [Enable] button is effective for only the first two
breakpoints. To enable the third or subsequent breakpoint in the list, disable one of the valid breakpoints
first and then set the breakpoint to be enabled.
The [Hard PC break] button is used to set a breakpoint in the [Source] window similar to the [Soft PC
break] button. The address set as a hardware PC breakpoint is marked with a suffix "!" or "?" and a red or
blue underline as it is displayed in the [Source] window (see "Software PC break").

Enter an address in the [Break at] text box and press the
[Enter] key or click the [Set] button. If two valid breakpoints
