The on-chip CAN module of the C164CM is connected to the (external) physical layer
(i.e. the CAN bus) via two signals, as shown in
Table 19-2

A logic low level (‘0’) is interpreted as the dominant CAN bus level, a logic high level (‘1’)
is interpreted as the recessive CAN bus level.
Connection to an External Transceiver
The CAN module of the C164CM can be connected to an external CAN bus via a CAN
transceiver.
Note: It is also possible to connect several CAN modules directly (on-board) without
