Active Minimum Temperature Adjustment (AMTA)
The AMTA operation in the SCH311X consists of a “Top Temperature” register (for each zone) that
defines the upper bound of the operating temperature for the zone. If the temperature exceeds this
value, the minimum temperature (Low Temp Limit) for the zone is adjusted down. This keeps the zone
operating in the lower portion of the temperature range of the fan control function (PWM Duty Cycle
vs. Temperature), thereby limiting fan noise by preventing the fan from going to the higher PWM duty
cycles.
