Section 18 Power-Down Modes
In addition to the normal program execution state, this LSI has four power-down modes in which
operation of the CPU and oscillator is halted and power consumption is reduced. Low-power
operation can be achieved by individually controlling the CPU, on-chip peripheral functions, and
so on.
This LSI's power-down modes are as follows:
• Sleep mode
• Software standby mode
• Hardware standby mode
• Module standby mode
Sleep mode indicates the state of the CPU, and module standby mode indicates the state of the on-
chip peripheral function (including the bus master other than the CPU). Some of these states can
be combined.
After a reset, this LSI is in normal operating mode.
Table 18.1 lists internal operation states in each mode.
