LCDF is a display utility for changing the LCD panel frame rate using the SPC8104 VGA Control-
ler. This is desirable for adjusting the contrast and viewability of the display under different lighting
conditions. LCDF can be loaded as a command line executable with parameters, or as an interac-
tive executable when no parameters are specified. To change the frame rate, LCDF modifies the
content of the CRTC_B[05] register in the SPC8104. LCDF is provided for demonstration pur-
poses only and is not intetended for distribution to end-users.

Copy the file lcdf.exe from the distribution disk to your system's disk. For convenience you may
choose to place the program in a directory in the DOS path.

LCDF is invoked from the DOS command line as follows:

When no command line option is specified the interactive mode of the program is run. When in
interactive mode, LCDF displays a graphic pattern and current frame rate.
The frame rate can be increased/decreased by repeatedly pressing ’U’ or ’D’. The quality of the
displayed pattern is used to determine the optimal frame rate for a given panel.
Pressing the ’Q’ key exits the program.
