TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS
Dynamic Generic Flow Control (GFC) Field Insertion
The CUBIT- Pro can insert the value of the first nibble of the ATM cell header in real time. The value of the GFC
nibble is supplied to the CUBIT- Pro via the input pins GFC(3-0). The insertion of the GFC value is enabled via
the control bit GFCENA.
If control bit GFCENA (Control Register Address 0CH, Bit 1) is set to one, then the state of the four Generic
Flow Control input pins GFC(3-0) will be accepted during the leading rising edge of the clock for the first byte of
the ATM cell header and inserted as an outgoing GFC on the following cell (see timing diagram in Figure 47 for
details). Therefore the GFC value is inserted into the next outgoing cell.
