Note There are three kinds of devices that can be connected in a GP-IB system:
The CS1W-GPI01 GP-IB Interface Unit can operate in Master mode or Slave
mode.
In Master mode, the Unit can control the GP-IB bus.
In Slave mode, the Unit can send and receive data according to commands
from the Controller.
Controllers, Talkers, and Listeners. Some devices include more than one of
these functions.
The GP-IB Interface Unit is connected to other devices with GP-IB Cable. Use
the recommended cables listed in the following table.
The GP-IB (General Purpose Interface Bus) system is an interface that con-
nects equipment such as measurement devices and computers. The GP-IB
specifications have been standardized in the IEEE-488 and IEC-625 stan-
dards.
In a GP-IB system, all of the devices are connected in parallel, as shown in
the following diagram.
