Modicon Quantum PLCs comply with “TC” treatment requirements (climate
treatments).
For installations in industrial production workshops or environments that correspond
to “TH” treatment (treatment for hot and humid environments), the PLCs must be
incorporated in casings with at least IP 54 protection, as specified by IEC 60664 and
NF C 20 040.
These PLC themselves have an IP 20 protection index (2).
They can therefore be installed without casings in reserved access areas that do not
exceed pollution level 2 (control room containing no machinery or activity that
produces dust). Pollution level 2 does not take account of harsher environments:
air polluted with dust, fumes, corrosive or radioactive particles, vapors or salts,
moulds, insects, etc.
