device. An RC device connects the host CPU/memory subsystem to I/O devices while an EP device
typically denotes a peripheral or I/O device.
Due to pin multiplexing on the MPC8572E device and the available ports on the AdvancedMC connector,
PCI-Express x8 mode does not allow simultaneous use of the Serial RapidIO connection. This is caused
by the fact that in x8 mode, PCI-Express uses Port 8–11 onto which the Serial RapidIO is connected.
Therefore, x8 PCI-Express is not a supported option. See
Table 5-2
for the allowed PCI-Express/Serial
RapidIO connections.
