Contact Positions: The grounding contact position is based on a clock face. With the keyway at bottom, the female grounding
contact will appear at one of the 12 clock positions. Example: all 480VAC receptacles and connectors, regardless of amperage,
have their grounding sleeve at 7 o’clock (which puts the grounding pin on all mating plugs and inlets at 5 o’clock).
Voltage Rating Color-Code: The housings of every device in a particular voltage group are identical in color for instant
identification. For example, all 480VAC devices are red, all 250VAC devices are blue.
Amperage Rating Identification: Amperage differences can be identified by the relative sizes of the devices. Smallest is 20A,
largest is 100A.
