Overview of the
programming
process
This demonstration kit includes resources needed to reprogram the RCB Firmware.
The following paragraphs overview the installation and use of the Atmel AVRISP mkII
In-system Programmer.
The AVRISP and JTAGICE are other tools supplied by Atmel that can be used for pro-
gramming the RCBs. If the STK500 ISP port is used, be sure to remove the VTARGET
jumper. This should be done to prevent voltage conflicts between the STK500 platform
and RCB.
Double click on the AVR Studio installer included on the CD. Atmel recommends that
you accept the default installation parameters.
Both the Display Board firmware and the RCB firmware are imaged through the Display
Board using the AVRISP mkII In-System Programmer.
