corresponding detector reads the instantaneous voltage
peak. When set to normal mode (0), the input signals are
integrated over a short period of time. This gives a more
consistent reading. When there are many input signals, they
add or subtract together on an instantaneous bases, so in the
instantaneous mode there is more variation in detector
readings than is typically desired. In either mode, a number
