(CR-7), change the response time of RF and IF detectors,
respectively. When set to instantaneous mode (1), the
corresponding detector reads the instantaneous voltage
peak. When set to normal mode (0), the input signals are
integrated over a short period of time. This gives a more
consistent reading. When there are many input signals, they
add or subtract together on an instantaneous bases, so in the
instantaneous mode there is more variation in detector
readings than is typically desired. In either mode, a number

mode a minimum of 5 readings should be averaged. In
instantaneous mode at least 32 readings should be
averaged.
