Contains either the command number of the command to be executed or
the status message for the command to be executed.
Please refer to the appendix for the structure of the command/status byte.
Data is transmitted binary, that means characters between 0x00 and 0xFF
are allowed. Data is only transmitted when the command requires the
transmission of data.
