Test drive S12G 16-bit MCUs with a

modular platform

Freescale StarterTRAK USB kits are designed for you to easily and inexpensively

test drive the 16-bit S12 MCU architecture. The StarterTRAK USB features specific

S12 products with rich feature sets to give you a head start in evaluating and

benchmarking our line of processors. These ultra-cost-effective development kits

enable comprehensive silicon evaluation starting at only $25 (USD) and offer design

expandability through the Freescale Tower System. Leveraging the growing portfolio

of modules in the Tower System, you can create your own custom development

system based on your S12 needs. Designing for automotive applications using

StarterTRAK USB means faster time to market and an affordable introductory price

into the S12 line of processors.

S12G 16-bit MCUs

The MC9S12G family includes feature-rich 16-bit

MCUs focused on low cost, high performance

and low pin count for automotive applications.

This family bridges the gap between high-end

8-bit MCUs and high-performance 16-bit MCUs,

such as the MC9S12XS family. MC9S12G MCUs

are targeted at generic automotive applications

requiring CAN or LIN/SAE J2602 communication

and are designed for body controllers, door

modules, occupant detection and lighting

modules. S12G MCUs are part of the Freescale

Product Longevity program with guaranteed

long-term availability of 15+ years.
