APPLICATIONS INFORMATION

the LTC1154 high long enough for the overcurrent shutdown
circuitry to respond and fully discharge the gate.
Five volt linear regulators with small output capacitors are
the most diffi cult to protect as they can “switch” from a
voltage mode to a current limited mode very quickly. The

Because the LTC1154 is micropower in both the standby
and ON state, the voltage drop across the supply fi lter is
less than 2mV, and does not signifi cantly alter the accuracy
of the 100mV drain sense threshold voltage.
