Digi ClassicBoard

adapter Family provides the ultimate

in basic, non-intelligent serial

communication technology, making it

a natural fit for a variety of

applications. The Digi ClassicBoard is

best used for less computation-intense

applications when the CPU is able to

devote its resources to handling

communications and real time

applications requiring quick latency

time intervals. This solution is ideal

for connecting cash registers, print

receipt devices, scanners, and other

peripheral devices in retail POS systems.

It can also be used in environments

using sensors, switches, measurement

devices, factory automation, EDI,

industrial control processing, and data

collection applications.

The Digi ClassicBoard Family

provides an array of ISA- and

PCI- based options to help you easily

satisfy a multitude of user needs. The

four- and eight-port EIA-232 models

are offered with a choice of DB-25 or

RJ-45 connectors. The 16-port

asynchronous

models (ISA only) include an RJ-45 connector

box. Each EIA-232 model is available with

16C654 UART delivering optimum performance

up to 460.8 Kbps. To provide reliability you can

trust, every signal is safeguarded by built-in

surge protection, which ensures that electrical

interference, surges or spikes will not interrupt

the system operation. The Digi ClassicBoard

Family also offers four- and eight-port ISA-422

solutions.

All models are remarkably easy to install. The

ISA models are Microsoft

Plug-and-Play compatible and are software-

configurable in non plug-and-play environments

by using Digi’s exclusive software configuration

utility. No dip-switches or jumpers to set—and

no hassles!
