Straight ground cords are used for connecting together the fixed elements of an ESD Protected Area.
diameter of 2.5mm. All straight cords have a one megohm +5% resistor at each socket. The resistor
is rated at 0.25 watt and is able to withstand 500 volts DC for at least six minutes. Plug and other
terminations do not contain a resistor. Black or yellow are the standard colours. Standard lengths
are 0.7, 1.5, 2.5 and 5 metre. All cords are lot and date coded. Other lengths can readily be made to
order, as can other terminations, e.g. 7mm sockets.
