The cord is coiled using a 2.5mm diameter cable to a coil diameter of approximately
12 mm diameter.
The cable is made of either four end or seven end duplex tinsel with a PVC insulation and a
PU coating. Three colours are available, black, yellow and blue, but not necessarily in all
sizes. Yellow cords have 'Y' suffixed to their code, blue cords have 'L'.
Coil cords are available in lengths of 1, 2 and 3 metres - 2 metres being the standard length.
All have tails of approximately 100 - 160 mm. The cord weights are approximately:
1 m: 18 gr 2 m: 28 gr 3 m: 37 gr.
Each cord is available with a variety of terminations. See table below. Each socket and stud
termination contains a 1 M Ω ± 5% resistor rated at ¼W and able to withstand a DC tension of
500V for over two minutes. Other terminations do not contain a resistor. Each cord is
marked with a lot and date code. Cords with a banana plug and with the "C" suffix are
supplied with a crocodile clip.
