Eventually, you may want to replace this exit sign:

When your exit sign comes to the end of its life or you choose to update or upgrade it by replacing it,

please do not dispose of it with your normal household waste, please recycle where facilities exist.

When you need to dispose of this fitting, check with your retailer or local authority for suitable

options. New regulations require the recycling of Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment

( European “WEEE Directive” effective August 2005—UK WEEE Regulations effective 2nd January

2007 ). Environment Agency Registered Producer: WEE/GA0248QZ

Clean this sign only with a soft dry cloth—Do not

use any chemical or abrasive cleaners.

The light source in your exit sign is a bespoke

array of LEDs. These LEDs have a life expectancy

of many tens of thousands of hours and so are

unlikely to need replacing.

If one or more of the LEDs do not light, the strip of

LEDs will need to be replaced. Contact the

helpline below for more information.

To fit: remove battery cover and the end cheek

with the button and indicator LEDs (see inside)

taking care not to damage cables connected to the

rear.

Pull plugs from sockets on both ends of LED strip.

Using a long nose plier or similar tool, carefully pull

the LED strip out of the fitting noting which socket

corresponds to which end of the fitting.

Insert replacement strip.

Reconnect both plugs.

Replace battery cover and end cheek.

Restore the power and switch on.

Battery replacement:

If after routine operation check, the sign does not remain

lit for the prescribed period, a new battery pack may be

required.

10) Close and secure the battery cover.

11) Restore power and allow to charge for 24 hours.

12) Perform full operation check and update test record.

Replacement battery type:

3 x 2/3 AA, 3.6V, 600mAh NiCD

Switch off the electricity at the mains.

Allow batteries to fully discharge then reconnect to

supply and allow to charge for 24 hours.

Test again for 3 hours, if light does not remain lit

change the battery pack as follows:

Remove the battery cover—see fig.1&2 inside.

Unplug the battery lead from the circuit board.

Pull the battery pack out of the fitting.

Write current date on the new battery pack.

Slide the new battery pack into the fitting.

Plug battery pack into circuit board.
