Reset PTC Fuses
60R Series devices utilize a
unique polymer based, positive
temperature coefficient (PTC)
material to protect against over
current conditions. In normal
operation the PTC has
numerous parallel conductive
paths, resulting in very low resistance. In an over
current condition, the number of conductive paths
is dramatically reduced, resulting in an immediate
rise in resistance. Once the over current condition
is eliminated, the PTC cools and resets to a low
resistance. These devices are very popular for PC
board–level protection as well as loudspeaker
crossover design. •Nominal continuous rating is
listed as hold amps •Unit will instantly trip when
load reaches 2x hold amp rating •Minimum
resistance is un tripped series resistance rating,
at ambient temperature of 20°C •Dimension “D”
is 0.30", dimension “E” is 0.12".
