The 724 Workstation Monitor cannot be re-calibrated after the initial factory calibration.
3M recommends that the operation of the monitor be verified at a 1 year interval or more
frequently if used in harsh environments such as high humidity & temperature, excessive
dust, or if the monitor has been abused in some way.
The procedure outlined below uses mono-plugs that contain an appropriate resistor for
testing the wrist strap input jacks located on the front of the 3M 732 & 733 Remote Input
Jacks. Use of this kit eliminates the need of a resistance substitution box when testing the
wrist strap input function. For additional information on the operation of the 724
Monitor see instruction manual.
Procedure:
Test Voltage 9 Volts & Resistance Selection 10 Megohms
Use plugs 1 through 4 on wrist strap inputs.
Set the 724 Test Voltage to 9 Volts and the Resistance Limit to 10 Megohms. In the order
outlined below insert each test plug into the #1 input of the Remote Input Jack and
observe the lamps and audible alarm on the 724 Monitor:
1. Test Plug #1 (1.33 Megohms) – Green (OK) lamp (1) ON, Yellow low lamp (L)
2. Test Plug #2 (1.69 Megohms) - Green (OK) lamp (1) ON, Yellow low lamp (L) OFF,
3. Test Plug #3 (8.45 Megohms) – Red high wrist strap lamp (H) OFF, Green (OK)
4. Test Plug #4 (11.5 Megohms) – Red high wrist strap lamp (H) ON, audible alarm ON
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for input #2 of the 732 Remote Input Jack. Audible alarm
flashing, and audible alarm OFF.
