General Description
The SS8039 is a microprocessor (µP) supervisory
circuit used to monitor the power supplies in µP and
digital systems. It provides excellent circuit reliability
and low cost by eliminating external components and
adjustments when used with +5V, +3.3V, +3.0V- pow-
ered circuits.
These circuits perform a single function: they assert a
reset signal whenever the V
below a preset threshold, keeping it asserted for at least
140ms after V
Reset thresholds suitable for operation with a variety of
supply voltages are available.
The SS8039 has a push-pull output stage. The
SS8039L has an active-low RESET output, while the
SS8039H has an active-high RESET output. The reset
comparator is designed to ignore fast transients on V
and the outputs are guaranteed to be in the correct logic
state for V
Low supply current makes the SS8039 ideal for use
in portable equipment, and it is available in a 4-pin
SOT-143 package.

Applications Information Negative-Going V Transients CC In addition to issuing a reset to the µP during power-up, power-down, and brownout conditions, the SS8039H and SS8039L are relatively immune to short-duration negative -going V transients (glitches). CC Figure1 shows typical transient ...
